SHS Electro Packaging Change
In a freshly restocked Target toy aisle I came across the first Super Hero Squad set to use the Hero Up tagline: the Wave 9 Spider-Man/Electro set. A quick search of eBay shows that the Spider-Woman/Hulk and Spider-Man/Venom sets have also been re-packaged with the new tagline (and 2009 copyright language at the bottom of the cardback) but the Spiral and MODOK sets still haven’t surfaced on eBay. Still, MOC and package variant collectors should take note and start shopping. Jump over to the board to discuss.
Edit: After a quick comparison, it does indeed look like Hero Up Electro is darker than the original Wave 9 Electro. No word yet on whether the other two Hero Up re-releases have repaints or not.
Wave 9 added to the Gallery
Clanure has added Wave 9 to the Gallery. Am I the only person that didn’t know Captain America’s shield was detachable? Anyway, go and enjoy Blade, Red Skull, the Sentry, Electro and the rest!

Clanure’s posted pictures of the Sentry over at the Gallery. Apparently Wave 9 is showing up country-wide, so if you’re like me and still haven’t found any, keep hunting.

Clanure has posted pictures of Wave 9 over in the Message Board for anyone interested. No luck at any of the Wal-Marts near me but good luck to everyone out there hunting!
Wave 9 sighted, Wave 10 vanished!
Hasbro Toy Shop has taken down links to the Wave 10 figures (formerly “coming soon”) but on the plus side, sightings of Wave 9 are happening! Clanure deserves a (totally-unofficial-and-with-no-cash-value-so-please-don’t-sue-us-Marvel) no-prize for mentioning it over on the Message Board. No luck in New York, at least not yet. Anyone have pictures yet? Send them to clevernamehere@therumorbuster.com or post them on the message board (yay for attachments!)
Wave 12 pictures
Entertainment Earth is the first place to have actual photos of the sculpted Super Hero Squad Wave 12 figures (Black Widow, Rhino, Tombstone, Avalanche) (now listed as March 2009). EE is still listing Wave 9, revision 1 as November, and Wave 10 and Wave 11 as December, but November is mid-way through and other than eBay auctions from the collectors over in Asia, they haven’t reached our shores yet.

but overseas. Users at the SGCollect boards have been posting their Super Hero Squad Wave 9 photos, including a mention of City In Crisis/Spider-Man Save the Day being out in the Philippines. With luck, they’ll be showing up stateside soon.
