Time Squad Build-a-Figure Master?

January 14th, 2010 Comments Off Posted in Uncategorized

While many of us missed out on the first batch of Doctor Who related Time Squad figures offered by Character Options, a new wave is being offered with a unique twist: collect all the packs and you can assemble your very own version of the Master, straight from the recent End of Time special! Head over to the Rumor Buster Message Board to discuss.

Time Squad Vehicles

Doctor Who Toys has a bit of news about the Doctor Who Time Squad figures (already out overseas, but Entertainment Earth has bumped their expected ship date to August), and apparently three mini-vehicles are being “packed randomly with one of the 15 Time Squad figures” The ships are apparently Captain Jack’s Chula Ship, SS Pentallion, and a Slitheen Cruiser. Great idea, but I think many of are keeping our fingers crossed for a Galactic Heroes sized interior of the Tardis.

Gallery updated, again

March 10th, 2009 Comments Off Posted in Combat Heroes, Super Hero Squad, Time Squad

And there are more, many, many more, additions to the Gallery! I just finished adding the Best Buy Exclusive Wonder Woman and some comparison shots to the Infinite Heroes section, and Gambit and Deadpool to the X-Men Origins Wolverine section.

Clanure, however has been far more productive and has added Crossbones to the Super Hero Squad, the SDCC 2008 exclusive Snake Eyes to Combat Heroes, and some packaged shots to M-Pire.

Meanwhile, there’s also some new additions to the Visitor’s Gallery that are worth checking out. All these pictures up the collection to almost 2750, with over 11,600 image views!

In other news, the Wiki has seen a lot of activity this week. Clanure has made a checklist and is busy with profiles for M-Pire, and I’ve done some small updates to the Super Hero Squad profiles, and updating the Masters of the Universe Classics and Time Squad checklists (with profiles coming soon), and adding a short profile on Captain America to our comic book character profiles. And as always, additions to the wiki are more than welcome.

Character Options renews the Doctor Who license

Action-Figure.com has this article about Character Options renewal of the Doctor Who license. Those are the fine folks soon bringing us the Time Squad figures by the way, so hopefully the renewed license will allow for many more waves of Time Squad, if the first offerings do well of course.

Doctor Who Time Squad figures close up

December 31st, 2008 Comments Off Posted in Time Squad

Doctorwhotoys.net has some up-close shots of the upcoming Doctor Who Time Squad figures here. It’s the same 5-pack info as the Toys New International clip, along with a rundown of the 2-packs.

5 Figure Packs

* Pack 1: Cyberman, Black Dalek, Scarecrow, Vashta Nerada & Sontaran
* Pack 2: Bronze Dalek, Sycorax, Natural Ood, Pyrovile & Clockwork Man
* Pack 3: Supreme Dalek, Davros, Doctor, Slitheen & Weeping Angel

2 Figure Packs

* Pack 1: The Doctor & Vashta Nerada
* Pack 2: Scarecrow & Pyrovile
* Pack 3: Supreme Dalek & Clockwork Man
* Pack 4: Sontaran & The Doctor
* Pack 5: Slitheen & Weeping Angel
* Pack 6: Cyberman & Dalek

Now all those aliens are nice, but where are Donna, Martha, Rose, Mickey, Jennie, Captain Jack and the Torchwood Crew, Sarah Jane with a Mr. Smith computer, K-9… where are the good guys? Almost every major alien threat from the past four seasons is represented (minus the Master and Cassandra, among others) but none of the heroes. Don’t even get us started on the classic characters. Hopefully the next wave has some good guys in it.

Time Squad

Well as some of you know, I’m mainly a Super Hero Squad collector. While Combat Heroes, Robot Heroes, all those lines look great, I never have the time, money or opportunity to pick up those lines. I may make an exception though for the Time Squad figures from Character Options shown at Doctorwhotoys.net. Essentially, Doctor Who toys, mostly David Tenant related, done in the Galactic Heroes style. The picture is tiny, but you can definitely make out the tenth Doctor, Dalek Sec and some other Daleks , Ood, Cybermen, a Sontaran, a Clockwork Man, a Slytheen, Davros… all in all it looks like 15 different characters. I can’t find much information on this, other than this post at Tardis and Torchwood Treasures saying

figures confirmed for release are; The Doctor, Davros, a Dalek, the Supreme Dalek, Dalek Sec, a Cyberman, a Weeping Angel, a Clockwork robot, a Sycorax, a Sontaran, a Pyrovile, a Slitheen, an Ood, a Scarecrow and Vashta Nerada. They are expected for release in January and will go on sale in packs of two and five. We are currently unaware how much these packs will cost but more information will be posted as and when it becomes available

Of course, now I’m tempted to pick up the other lines so I can see Darth Vader face down an army of Daleks and have the Doctor use his sonic screwdriver on Optimus Prime. How cool will an Ultron-led army of Cybermen be?
