Another run down of some news briefs… first off, Marvel’s Facebook page has new Super Hero Squad Show images. Of course, if you run your mouse over the pictures, you’ll get all kinds of interesting information, such as, scrolling over the thumbnails of an Iron Man scene, you’ll see “Who is the original creator of Dr. Doom?” Whether that means there’s a new origin story for Doom, we’ll hopefully find out next week when th show premieres.

Meanwhile, Actionfigpics.com is reporting that the Masters of the Universe Classics Moss Man figure will get spot flocking.

And TV Shows on DVD says that Justice League complete series will have season 1 in fullscreen, Season 2 in widescreen, and the JLU episodes in anamorphic widescreen.

More Super Hero Squad Show News

Since the big news this week has been about Disney and Marvel (and I assume there’s a fair amount of late-summer vacation taking and back-to-schooling for many internet users), there hasn’t been much toy news to talk about, but Comics Continuum has a little bit of additional information on the upcoming The Super Hero Squad Show. It’s a rundown of the first episode, and some more information on upcoming villain Chthon. Hopefully more news is imminent!

The Super Hero Show Pictures

Marvel’s Facebook page has been updated with a gallery of The Super Hero Squad Show images like Hawkeye concept art, Colossus, Reptil, Ms. Marvel, Captain America, Luke Cage, Iron Fist and Misty Knight, the Fantastic Four, and even two massive spreads of all the Super Hero Squad Heroes, and all the SHS Villains. Hopefully that’ll whet your appetite for the show, which will be premiering in a few short weeks!

Tamera Mowry is Misty Knight

June 4th, 2009 Comments Off Posted in Marvel Animated, Super Hero Squad

Comics Continuum says that Misty Knight is going to be voiced by none other than former Sister Sister star Tamera Mowry in the upcoming Super Hero Squad cartoon. We’ve updated the Super Hero Squad cartoon cast list accordingly. The number of confirmed characters with unknown voice actors is continually shrinking as this show becomes more and more important in the ever dangerous game of 6 degrees (with Mikey Kelley, Michelangelo from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, providing the direct link to Kevin Bacon.)

Super Hero Squad Video Game and Cartoon News

IGN has an interview with the Super Hero Squad cartoon’s writer Mark Hoffmeier on the upcoming show and video game, which he says it’s like “a playable lost episode of the series”. There’s mention that Spider-Man is off-limits due to contract exclusivity (which is nice to finally hear) and that he thinks “a lot of it just depends on how Marvel negotiates its deals” (which is sadly the reason why we can have Wolverine and Iron Man appearing contemporaneously in their own shows). It also includes a pretty handy summary of the video game:

So what’s the basic setup for the story in the game?

Mark: It’s the same basic setup for the series. Doctor Doom is out to collect fractals of the Infinity Sword and they’re referred to as Infinity Fractals. The backstory on the series and the game is that Doom was trying to get possession of the sword, but Iron Man and the Hero Squad intervened and stopped him. Shards of fractals reigned down over the whole world and so throughout the series Iron Man will detect one, Doctor Doom will detect one, and then they’ll battle to get these shards. In the game what’s different is that Doom is trying to collect enough of them to create a miniature Infinity Sword. At one point in the game, he will actually succeed in doing that and the Super Hero Squad will have to stop him. What’s great is that you’re not going to get to see that in the series in the same way you get to see it in the game.

Super Hero Squad Casting Info: Reptil and someone cosmic?

Continuing the sporadic announcements of the Super Hero Squad animated show’s casting information, IMDB now has a listing for Antony Del Rio as “Reptile” (presumably Reptil), while Mikey Kelley’s blog has been updated with this post reminding fans to catch him as Kamandi in Brave and the Bold (or, Batman and Friends if you will) and mentioning that

“One of these Heroes is going to sound – COSMIC!!!

Coming Fall 2009″
