Marvel Universe, Spider-Man and Iron Man Action Figure News

January 26th, 2011 Comments Off Posted in Marvel Universe

This is a quick wrap-up of the latest news Brian has rounded up for the Hasbro’s Spider-Man 3.75 inch line, Iron Man the Armored Avenger and of course, Marvel Universe as well.

First off, Brian found a picture of the newest version of Venom from the Spider-Man 3.75 inch line featuring a decidedly Mac Gargan version of Venom.

Then Iron Man drops the excitement factor by presenting us with a wave of fancy armors for him and War Machine.  Didn’t a lot of these armors make an appearance in the old 90′s Iron Man cartoon?  Maybe there’s nostalgia at play.  There’s a concept Drone, but those hoping for a second shot at Mandarin, Ultimate Iron Man, or comic Whiplash are out of luck.  Maybe they’ll come in case revisions.  Anyway, Iron Man 2011 Wave 1 will have:

  • War Machine Mark II
  • Quick Change Iron Man (Mark IV to Mark VI)
  • Hypervelocity Armor Iron Man (Redeco)
  • Shield Breaker Armor Iron Man
  • Inferno Armor Iron Man
  • Iron Man Mark V (New Version)
  • Hammer Drone (Concept)
  • Deep Dive Armor Iron Man
  • Light Up War Machine
  • Space Armor Iron Man
  • Subterranean Armor Iron Man

And finally, someone on Toy Ark apparently managed to snag a carded Karla Sofen Moonstone figure from Big Bad Toy Store along with the dark Daredevil and red Warpath, so the future of the figures looks pretty good.

SDCC Hasbro News Round-Up Part 2

July 24th, 2010 Comments Off Posted in Marvel Universe

More news coming out of SDCC 2010 today as Hasbro gives it’s long-awaited panel.  The future of Marvel Legends, awesome Marvel Universe reveals, and even some (if I do say so myself) lackluster Super Hero Squad reveals.

Marvel Universe:

A Masterworks Sentinel.  Actually, two! (Seen Here)

Marvel Universe Gigantic Battles Bill Foster “Giant Man” or Goliath, and Thor Clone/Clor/Ragnarok, together with a Loki/Frost Giant pairing seen here and here.

Spring sees an original Avengers set, with Iron Man, Thor, Ant-Man, Wasp and Hulk (seen here), and a Deadpool, Wolverine and Warpath X-Force set seen here.

The Hasbro diorama and display case was updated with some of these new figures, as seen here.  Jessica Drew’s Spider-Woman helps round out the New Avengers, while Spider-Man 2099 and Doc Samson are also shown.  Cybernetic War Marchine is also shown in this picture.  Heroic Age Iron Man, and better pictures of Spider-Man 2099 and World War Hulk are visible at this gallery.

Spring 2011′s Wave 1 has World War Hulk (here), Captain Marvel (here).

Meanwhile, Spring 2011′s release of 2011 Wave 2 includes a Jim Lee inspired Cyclops (here), and kitty-eared First Appearance Wolverine (here) to round out your collection of Giant Sized X-Men, and Gladiator (here), and Apocalypse (here).  Yeah, that’s a lot of X-Men in one wave.

Spider-Man’s 3.75 inch line will apparently be adding Scorpion (here).

And finally, for Super Hero Squad news: repaints a plenty.  Red Hulk/Iron Man, Spider-Man/Spider-Woman (aka Arachne, Julia Carpenter), and Wolverine/Polaris (well, we’re only reasonably sure.  It’s a repaint of the Scarlet Witch) were shown on one slide. War Machine/Iron Patriot, Spider-Man and the City in Crisis Green Goblin, and the Secret Wars 4-Pack Spider-Man are shown with the new Thor sculpt on a second slide.  Ultimate Captain America gets a Squad Cruiser shown on one slide, while if you look at the Toyark slides, you can see the Cyclops and Wolverine with a Quinjet slide.

Ok ladies and gentlemen, head over to the Rumor Buster’s message board to talk about the SDCC 2010 revelations and be sure to log in and cast your yay or nay vote!
