Super Hero Squad Taskmaster!

June 4th, 2010 Comments Off Posted in Hasbro Heroes, Super Hero Squad

Think pointed out that Super Hero Squad Wave 20 is up for pre-order at Entertainment Earth!  The Taskmaster and Deadpool set is a welcome addition, but no word yet on whether either Wolverine and Juggernaut will feature new sculpts, or whether Spider-Man and “Ronan” is actually Ronan the Accuser, or a re-release of the Spider-Man and Ronin (with an I) pack.

2x Taskmaster & Deadpool
2x Wolverine & Juggernaut
2x Spider-Man & Ronan
1x Spiderman & Venom
1x Spider Armor & Rhino
1x Iron Man & War Machine
1x Spider-Man & Moonknight
1x Wolverine (Black) & Silver Samurai
1x Reptil & Dr. Doom

Hasbro Q&A

June 1st, 2010 Comments Off Posted in Marvel Universe

This is actually a slightly older Q&A, but it got caught in a bit of a shuffle, but better late than never.  And, it’s nice to have an official answer from Hasbro about what happened to the Secret Invasion, Secret Wars, City in Crisis and Winter Soldier Super Hero Squad sets:

1) At this past Toy Fair show, we saw what looked like a MU Dark Avenger (Karla Soffen) Ms. Marvel variant on display, but she wasn’t mentioned in the presentation.  Can you give us more info on this figure?  Is she a running change/variant we can look forward to, is she a head-swapped Classic Ms. Marvel (what most collectors have done to add her to their collection), or will we see her released in an upcoming wave?

The Marvel Universe Dark Avenger Ms. Marvel shown at Toy Fair was planned as a variant. Unfortunately, plans changed; but she is being reviewed for future releases!

2) This year in MU we’ve been getting one female figure per wave, is this trend going to continue?

There are a lot of cool female characters in Marvel Universe. We want to add as many as we can. However, since this is a brand driven by boys we tend to have less female figures. But keep your eyes peeled, you just never know who might appear this fall!

3) What went into the decision to release the SHS 4-packs like “City in Crisis” and “Secret Invasion” in international markets (Philippines, Taiwan, United Kingdom) but not in the US?

These items were also offered in the USA. Unfortunately, local retailers chose not to list them.

Giant Sized X-Men, Classic Havok and Iron Man 2020 Marvel Universe Figures

June 1st, 2010 Comments Off Posted in Marvel Universe

Think does it again with some great Marvel Universe figures, including an Iron Man 2020 figure and a carded Havok. The creme de la creme is, of course, the Marvel Universe Giant Size X-Men 6 pack with first appearance Storm, Colossus, Nightcrawler, tiger stripe Wolverine, Cyclops, and… Thunderbird! Simply too cool. Head over to the message board to thank him and see the pictures!

Super Hero Squad Pepper Potts as Rescue!

June 1st, 2010 Comments Off Posted in Super Hero Squad

Think broke the news that the upcoming Iron Man 2 Super Hero Squad set Iron Defense Squad has Pepper Potts as Rescue, a repaint of the Wave 9 Captain America, and another repaint of the World War Hulk Hulkbuster armor. Head over to the message board to give him some praise!

New Super Hero Squad Cruisers and The Battle For Doom’s Castle!

November 30th, 2009 Comments Off Posted in Hasbro Heroes, Super Hero Squad

I posted this earlier in the day at the forum, but didn’t have a chance to front page it until now: Basically, Taobao has an auction listing for a new Super Hero Squad Cruiser, this time, Wolverine’s Claw Cruiser. It’s a new format for the vehicles, featuring a carded bubble rather than the previous style boxes, and only one figure instead of two. It’s a repaint of the Racers, but for fans of the vehicles and those looking to build their fleet, it’s good news!

And in other news, we finally know that the new Doctor Doom Sculpt is going to be included in the Battle for Doom’s Castle, the next folding playset. Feel free to discuss this over on the board!

Combat Heroes and Robot Heroes Target Holiday Sets

November 5th, 2009 Comments Off Posted in Combat Heroes, Hasbro Heroes, Robot Heroes

The Target holiday Combat Heroes and Robot Heroes sets are hitting stores now. I put up some quick cell phone pictures up over on the message board until they get to a better home. In the meantime, here’s a rundown of the changes I can see between them and the original figures:

Optimus Prime has silver antennae and looks to be a much brighter shade of blue

Ironhide: possibly a repaint of the Ironhide/Mixmaster figure, but not sure yet.

Starscream: Looks like the Springer/Starscream 2-pack figure but painted a little lighter.

Snake Eyes: Possibly a repaint of the Snake Eyes/Neo Viper figure?

Storm Shadow: a repaint of the Heavy Duty/Storm Shadow figure?

Conrad “Duke” Hauser: a blonder/lighter haired version of the Duke/Baroness 2-pack figure. Also, I think the green is a little lighter.

Edit: 9:30 a.m. 11/06/09 – I double checked the figures and realized that the glare from the pictures was making some black things look silver, so Ironhide and Snake Eyes are downgraded to potential repaints.
