The Next Marvel Minimates?
Diamond Select Toys is slowly releasing clues about the upcoming Minimatse figures via twitter… clues so far include
“Marvel Minimates Series 33 Clue #1 – First two-pack contains bro & sis”
“Marvel Minimates Series 33 Clue #2 – Second two-pack contains mommy-to-be and villain-that-was. Next clue at 4PM!”
Marvel Minimates Series 33 Clue #3 – Last two-pack contains fiery female (with classic cut variant) and mechanical monster. Pics on Monday!”
So who’s coming? Aurora and Northstar? Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch? Colossus and Magik? Is number 2 code for Tigra? And fiery female? Phoenix (Rachel or Jean)? Nova? Firestar? Ms. Marvel as Binary? Monday can’t come soon enough! Speculation and discussion, as always, is welcome on the message board.

Another SDCC Round-Up
The toy news has basically dried up, but there’s still a few things we haven’t pointed out yet, like the 19 inch Marvel Universe Gigantic Battles Galactus figure, and Marvelousnews’s rundown of the Hasbro panel includes the possibility of Alpha Flight and more Ultimates in the Marvel Universe, the announcement that 2010 will include figure stands, the Marvel Universe theme will shift from Nick Fury to Osborne and Hammer, art announcements for the 2010 figures (Mike Deodato) and the Secret Wars figures (Bob Layton).
Minimates news includes Spider-Woman (Julia Carpenter) and Molecule Man as a TRU two pack along with an AFX exclusive set of First Class X-Men (to go along with the First Class Angel already shown.)
Infinity Gauntlet Minimates
Marvelousnews has pictures of what could be the greatest Minimates theme set of all time: The Infinity Gauntlet. Thanos, Adam Warlock, classic Drax the Destroyer and of course, a surprise appearance by Mephisto, he of so few action figures. Warlock and Drax, Gamora, Nova and Silver Surfer having already been released… Marvel’s cosmic world is getting ever so full. And it’ll be a Previews Exclusive for those interested.

Still More Dark Avengers Minimates
Toys News International has news of yet another set of Dark Avengers Minimates, this time featuring Sentry, Ares, Moonstone-as-Ms. Marvel and Bullseye-as-Hawkeye. That, with Scorpion-as-Venom-as-Spider-Man, Daken-as-Wolverine, Norman Osborne’s Iron Patriot and Marvel Boy coming as another set and the upcoming Thunderbolts based Minimates featuring Scorpion-as-Venom, Norman Osborne, Speedball-as-Penance and Radioactive Man, we’ve got quite the roster of identity crises. Songbird and Swordsman are the two most obvious hold-outs from that era of Thunderbolts/Dark Avengers, but here’s hoping that this paves the way for the classic Thunderbolts (Zemo, Mach IV, Atlas, Blizzard, Jolt).
Dark Avengers Minimates
Actually, there’s a bunch of Marvel Minimate news out there today. First, Marvelousnews had pictures of the upcoming Waves 29 and 30 (featuring Spider-Girl, Black Panther and more), and joining the previously announced Norman Osborne led Thunderbolts Minimates, there’s a bafflingly complex SDCC exclusive set of Dark Avengers coming. You see, it’s a Toys R Us San Diego Comic Convention exclusive, only available at Toys R Us’s and the Entertainment Earth booth at SDCC. So it’s really neither exclusive to Toys R Us or SDCC, or even EE for that matter.
Spider-Girl Minimates
Art Asylum has apparently been releasing news of upcoming figures in a code and now that the code is broken, the list stands revealed as:
Series 29
Jim Lee Storm & Black Panther
Moon Knight & Armored Daredevil
Hydra Agent & X-Force Wolverine
World War II Wolverine (variant)
Series 30
Electro & Insulated Spider-Man
Scorpion & House of M Spider-Man
Vault Guard & Spider-Girl
Ultimate Spider-Woman (variant)
So first figures for Moon Knight, Hydra, Black Panther, Electro, Scorpion, Spider-Girl, Vault Guardsman, House of M Spider-Man and Ultimate Spider-Woman… a pretty good haul and pretty stiff competition for lines like Super Hero Squad.
More Mighty Marvel Mini-Mates MNews
Mnews may not be a real word, but as many great men have never said “alliteration, above all.” Anyway, Action-Figure.com has pictures of the SDCC exclusive Thunderbolts Minimates (Norman Osborne, Penance, Mac Gargan Venom, and Radioactive Man!), and Art Asylum is holding a poll where fans can choose which 4 Secret Wars themed Minimates should be made. Choices include Monica Rambeau (powered and non-powered), Beyonder (powered and non powered), Ben Grimm (Thing minus rocks), Molecule Man, Doctor Doom, Spider-Man-being-symbioted, Spider-Woman (now Arachne, the Julia Carpenter version), and she of mixed reception: Mohawk Storm. In other Minimates news, the TRU two-packs, including Wonder Man and Union Jack amongst the usual Hulks and Spider-Men, are hitting TRUs now.
