Avengers Earth’s Mightiest Heroes Gets 52 Eps, 20 Ep. Lead
Superhero Hype! is one of the places running with Disney’s press release about Avengers: Earth’s Mighiest Heroes, but since it was the first I came across, it gets the link. Here’s the bullet points:

The Obligatory Disney-Marvel Link
Every other site is covering the Marvel/Disney buyout, so we won’t even try to cover it. We’ll just point you to Newsarama’s coverage of the animation related aspect of the buyout. Still, you can join our discussion of the merger on the board.
Infinite Heroes And Marvel Universe Gallery Updates
Another weekend over and another big update to the galleries.
Up first, a handful of Infinite Heroes group shots and comparisons. Just how small is Robin? How big is the Anti-Monitor? A Batman family and foes group shot, an updated collection of Titans and their foes, and until Harbinger and the Shadow Demons are released, a shot of the Crisis on Infinite Earths major players. And finally, the Supergirls that both are and were… from Kara Zor-El to pre and post death 1985 Supergirl and even Power Girl.
Marvel Universe gets some new comparison shots too. First, we have the mini-Iron Man Hall of Armor, from TRU’s Stealth Iron Man to Wave 3′s Classic and Wave 1′s modern and “stealth” versions, Yellow Costume Daredevil and Wave 1, and TRU’s white Silver Surfer with Wave 1, and Wave 3′s Thing and negative Zone costume variant.
The Marvel Universe Daredevil/Silver Surfer/Iron Man three pack has it’s own pictures up, of course, as is the new Thing figure, the Infinite Heroes Heart of Crisis set featuring Monitor, Flash, Medusa Mask Psycho Pirate and Supergirl, along with SDCC’s Anti-Monitor, the Mallah’s Revenge Wal-Mart Exclusive 6-pack, TRU’s exclusive Gotham Patrol 6-pack and Best Buy’s exclusive First Flight Green Lantern figure.
So there you go, all kinds of Infinite Heroes and Marvel Universe goodness! Up next, more Handful of Heroes.
Handful of Heroes
While we’re still waiting for our case to show up, it looks like some comic book stores have managed to get figures in. Over at Littlerubberguys.com one fan (Misterdroid) even posted a brief review and checklist. Of note, there’s quite the Hulk rogues gallery, including Ironclad, X-Ray and Armageddon (the Leader, one of the foremost Hulk villains, is noticeably absent) which seems to suggest that the planning and production of this line goes back to when Marvel thought the Hulk movie was going to be great and would launch the Hulk Gamma Corps cartoon. Also, Thing is the only member of the Fantastic Four, and of the 40 different sculpts, not a single female made the cut. No Storm, Ms. Marvel, or even a She-Hulk (surprising since the first wave is so Hulk-friendly.)
Gallery Updates
It’s been a little while, but we’ve got another series of gallery updates today.
First off, in the Marvel Universe Misc. Shots folder, we’ve got some new comparison shots of the Green, Grey and Red Hulks, and the three Human Torches. Wolverine’s Motorcycle from the TRU Exclusive X-Men Origins Wolverine set has finally made it to the gallery, and so didn’t the rest of Marvel Universe Wave 4. Only frontal shots for now, but when our normal camera is available again, we’re going to re-shoot these with the normal all-around shots.
We’ve also added to our capsule toy gallery collection with shots of the 1977 Marvel gumball machine rings featuring Spider-Woman, Spider-Man, Captain Marvel, Hulk, Doctor Strange and Ghost Rider.
Last, but far from least, Clanure’s ever interersting What I Got gallery is updated with some of his recent gets like Gargoyle and Nighthawk Super Hero Squad figures and some of the recent mystery figures, like the silver Ultimate Captain America and the red pants Hulk
First Look at Marvel’s Handful of Heroes
Entertainment Earth has a promo picture of the upcoming Handful of Heroes figures in this pre-order listing, including our first real look at the figures. Although we can’t quite identify everyone, Angel, Nightcrawler, Doctor Doom (well, what looks like Doom with Thor’s hammer Mjolnir), and Captain America are spotted. It looks like Thing is in the bottom row, with a World War Hulk era Hulk on the top and is that Strong Guy and Juggernaut? Join the discussion over on the board.
Newsclips 04/28/09
First off, X-Men the Animated Series volume 1 and 2 are out today! They’re $17-$18 each (Best Buy, for instance, has them 2 for $35), but for those that remember paying $15 per single-episode VHS, they’re a great deal. Want to give it a taste? Marvel has episode 1 streaming along with its other video offerings.
Also, those 3.75 inch Terminator Salvation figures are hitting toy stores (or at least the Toys R Us I saw this afternoon) so go load up on T-800s to teach Wolverine that robots don’t have to be mega-sized to be deadly!
Fans of Joss Whedon’s characters may (or may not) be happy that Illyria will be visiting Bete Noire’s Fallen Angel when the title relaunches.
