Marvel Universe Black Ronin variant

February 28th, 2011 Comments Off Posted in Marvel Universe

Brian points out that over on Toy Ark,  someone’s found a black variant of the Marvel Universe Ronin figure.  It’s a figure discussed since practically the dawn of the line when a passing reference was made to black and charcoal versions of the figure, but no black Ronin ever appeared.  Until, that is, apparently Wave 12, Rev. 5.  There’s talk about possibly having revised the legs, based upon the figure’s stance, but until someone can open or otherwise inspect the figure it’s all speculation.

Marvel Universe X-Force Archangel

February 7th, 2011 Comments Off Posted in Marvel Universe

After a long wait, and sky-high eBay prices, the Marvel Universe X-Force costume Archangel is finally available!  As Brian points out, head over to Marvel.com and sign-up to start the process, but be warned you need to pre-order for a year (and watch out or the recurring billing demons will stab you for another $59.88 this time next year), making it one of the pricier figures to add to your Marvel Universe collection. Or pretty cheap if you actually enjoy Marvel’s digital comics offering.

You’ve also got to pay for shipping ($5.17), fill out the certificate and get all the technicalities under way.

Marvel Universe, Spider-Man and Iron Man Action Figure News

January 26th, 2011 Comments Off Posted in Marvel Universe

This is a quick wrap-up of the latest news Brian has rounded up for the Hasbro’s Spider-Man 3.75 inch line, Iron Man the Armored Avenger and of course, Marvel Universe as well.

First off, Brian found a picture of the newest version of Venom from the Spider-Man 3.75 inch line featuring a decidedly Mac Gargan version of Venom.

Then Iron Man drops the excitement factor by presenting us with a wave of fancy armors for him and War Machine.  Didn’t a lot of these armors make an appearance in the old 90′s Iron Man cartoon?  Maybe there’s nostalgia at play.  There’s a concept Drone, but those hoping for a second shot at Mandarin, Ultimate Iron Man, or comic Whiplash are out of luck.  Maybe they’ll come in case revisions.  Anyway, Iron Man 2011 Wave 1 will have:

  • War Machine Mark II
  • Quick Change Iron Man (Mark IV to Mark VI)
  • Hypervelocity Armor Iron Man (Redeco)
  • Shield Breaker Armor Iron Man
  • Inferno Armor Iron Man
  • Iron Man Mark V (New Version)
  • Hammer Drone (Concept)
  • Deep Dive Armor Iron Man
  • Light Up War Machine
  • Space Armor Iron Man
  • Subterranean Armor Iron Man

And finally, someone on Toy Ark apparently managed to snag a carded Karla Sofen Moonstone figure from Big Bad Toy Store along with the dark Daredevil and red Warpath, so the future of the figures looks pretty good.

Taskmaster, Deadpool, and Silver Samurai Join the Marvel Universe

January 21st, 2011 Comments Off Posted in Uncategorized

WeaponEversor brings awesome news from Hisstank: Those comic book two packs with Silver Samurai/Wolverine and Taskmaster/Deadpool appear to be true after all!  That’s right, a Taskmaster Marvel Universe action figure!

Does that mean that the Marvel Universe comic packs with Power Man/Iron Fist, and Spider-Man/Captain Britain sets are that much more likely now?

Meanwhile, Brian’s got a new poll up where you can vote for the best of Marvel Universe Wave 8.  Show Shadowcat some love, or throw some weight behind the Juggernaut and Colossus (get it?  Huh?)  Which Havok and which Archangel are your favorites?  Or maybe you like the AIM soldier… poor, lonely, non-X-related army building AIM Soldier.
