DCUC Wave 15 and new JLU Singles

May 17th, 2010 Comments Off Posted in DC Universe Classics, JLU, Justice League Unlimited

Mattycollector.com has some great press pictures of DCUC Wave 15 and the newest JLU singles, including Superman with a Starro spore, John Stewart as Power Ring, Barry Allen Flash, Mr. Terrific and the single-carded Batman Beyond! DCUC is essentially a confirmation of prior rumors, but it’s so nice to see them:

* Golden Pharaoh — Complete your “Super Powers” collection! Golden Pharaoh is armed with his Pyramid Power staff and rocks a transparent purple torso and collar.
* Classic Starman –Traditional version of Starman is well equipped with his Cosmic Rod and a Stellar Energy Pistol. Celestial crime fighting was never so much fun!
* Modern Starman — The updated version of Starman lands with his trusty Cosmic Rod and features contemporary translucent parts.
* OMAC — He’s not bad, he’s just built that way! Cyborg OMAC is rendered in dramatic detail in his first outing as an action figure.
* Martian Manhunter — Two versions will be released, so it’ll be your turn to hunt the hunter for both the standard figure and the hard-to-find chase version with Martian head and “weapon” hand!
* Raven — Stunning and smart, the Fan’s Choice winner comes to life as a magnificent action figure.
* Sinestro Corps Batman — Commemorating his near-indoctrination into the dark side, our hero comes with a transparent Batarang ring construct.
* Jemm – We’re fairly certain the Injustice Gang has their eye on MattyCollector.com as the Son of Saturn gets ready to make his first-ever appearance as an action figure.
* Validus — Collect all 7 figures above to create this fearsome 9” Collect and Connect™ figure! Validus arrives with a crystal-clear head dome to reveal his heinously huge brain.

Newsclips 9/10/09

September 10th, 2009 Comments Off Posted in DC, DC Animated, Masters of the Universe, Super Hero Squad

Another run down of some news briefs… first off, Marvel’s Facebook page has new Super Hero Squad Show images. Of course, if you run your mouse over the pictures, you’ll get all kinds of interesting information, such as, scrolling over the thumbnails of an Iron Man scene, you’ll see “Who is the original creator of Dr. Doom?” Whether that means there’s a new origin story for Doom, we’ll hopefully find out next week when th show premieres.

Meanwhile, Actionfigpics.com is reporting that the Masters of the Universe Classics Moss Man figure will get spot flocking.

And TV Shows on DVD says that Justice League complete series will have season 1 in fullscreen, Season 2 in widescreen, and the JLU episodes in anamorphic widescreen.

Damn Dirty Pegwarmers

Mattycollector’s makes an announcement on their Facebook page saying:

Hey DCU fans,

It is no secret that their has been a delay in getting new JLU figures into Target stores. This is entirely do to our factor shutting down last December. We have already found a new factory and we have new packs ready to ship, the problem is, while we waited for the new factory to produce the new 2009 figures, we had to continue and ship 2008 product to Target to hold the place in the toy aisle.

So right now Target is full of 2008 packs. We need to get all of these sold before Target will take orders for new 2009 packs. So, to help, Mattel is funding a month long price reduction on 3 packs. So tell your friends and allies, swing by a Target and grab some JLU packs this month on sale. Once we move all of the older product, we have fresh new figures ready to ship and get into your hands!

That is the latest! We are doing everything we can to get to fresh figures. All we have to do now is clear out the 2008 inventory. :-)

Matty

Now, ignore the typos, and be aware that some people believe Mattel is just asking people to buy what they’ve already bought. There’s really two ways to take this: Either Mattel is being very transparent about their motives (they kept shipping the product they had to keep the shelves saved, and considering the number of people reporting that their Target halved Justice League Unlimited and Infinite Heroes space for Marvel Universe and Wolverine toys, it sounds like a reasonable plan), or it’s the same hash we’ve had with Mattel over Infinite Heroes (buy those figures without articulation and accessories and maybe, just maybe, you’ll get better stuff later), but either way, at least Mattel is trying to communicate with fans.

Amanda Waller coming to the Justice League

Matty Collector has a preview photo of Amanda Walller (aka, the Wall), coming (hopefully) soon to the Justice League/Justice League Unlimited line. For those with Kay B Toys nearby, depending on how early you went, and how backed up the supply, you may have been able to walk away with a nifty collection of JLU 3-packs for $6 this past week!
