New Thor and Iron Man Super Hero Squad Figures for Pre-Order
The three latest Super Hero Squad three packs are hitting stores in some areas (hence the scalper’s ransom on eBay, including one with a buy it now price of almost $90 for the three sets… triple the MSRP!) but if you don’t want to hunt, and don’t mind waiting two weeks, Hasbro Toy Shop has the figures up for sale. First off, thanks to thecollector22 for the tip-off.
Next:
Iron Man War Mechs is here, featuring:
Iron Man: High-tech armored super genius!
Marvel’s War Machine: Ultra-powerful walking weapon!
Detroit Steel: Rogue weapon of mass destruction!
Unleash a battle of “super” proportions! This three-pack of chunky super-powered dynamos come in battle-ready poses, just waiting for you to put them in action. Pit the evil powers of your Detroit Steel figure against the courage of your heroic Iron Man and Marvel’s War Machine figures. Set up the fight and help the good guys “save the world”!
Three-pack includes Iron Man, Marvel’s War Machine and Detroit Steel figures.
Then there’s Thor The Mighty Avenger’s Asgardian Smash set with the following:
Thor: Hammer-throwing thunder god! Hulk: Ultra-strong villain smasher! Marvel’s Warrior Odin: Mighty king of Asgard! Unleash a battle of “super” proportions! Thor also gets a set called The Battle for Asgard’s Vault here:

Loki: Evil god of trickery!
Marvel’s Destroyer: Indestructible fire-fueled armor!
Unleash a battle of “super” proportions! This three-pack of chunky super-powered dynamos come in battle-ready poses, just waiting for you to put them in action. Pit the evil powers of your Loki and Marvel’s Destroyer figures against the courage of your heroic Thor figure. Set up the fight and help the hero “save the world”!
Three-pack includes Thor, Loki and Marvel’s Destroyer figures.
Ages 3 and up.
And if 3.75 inch figures are more your thing, you can buy the single Iron Man Armored Avenger figures here, including (for now at least) the new drone and an army of Iron Man repaints. Want the 3.75 inch Thor figures? Then prepare to buy a case, which will get you 3 each of the three Thor figures, Odin and Loki. That’s only 11 figures you say, and not the full 12 they say are in a case? Very perceptive, but you’ll have to take that up with Hasbro… we’re only sharing their information. Edit: Or rely on someone like pj4life who’ll actually read the description and see that the 12th figure is the Frost Giant! D’oh.

Super Hero Squad Detroit Steel
In honor of the recently revealed Super Hero Squad Detroit Steel figure (coming in the Super Hero Squad Iron Man The Armored Avenger set War Mechs), why don’t we unveil a new (and hopefully recurring) feature: Get To Know Your Squad!
Today’s edition is obviously Iron Man’s newest tin-plated nemesis Detroit Steel.
Short story long: While Tony Stark is recovering from his recent run from the law and subsequent mindwipe reset, Justin Hammer’s daughters Justine (the former Masters of Evil leader Crimson Cowl) and Sasha have become the newest global weapons suppliers and their big product is the Detroit Steel armor. Own your own Iron Man! Only faster, prettier, and without any of that bad PR Stark Industries has been getting, and without pesky moral obligations preventing you from using the armor to overthrow those tiny third world countries.
Post Dark Reign, Iron Man is rebuilding his empire and starting a new company called Stark Resiliant, and that includes forming a new team of allies, including Pepper Potts in her new Rescue armor (see here), and James Rhodes as War Machine. Unfortunately, Hammer Industries’ Detroit Steel seems to be beating them to the scene of the crime. Yes, the villain attempting to screw with the hero by being a better hero is an age old comic book cliche, but we’ll let that slide for now.
Now, the story’s only half over, and should be concluding in December’s Invincible Iron Man 33 (see these solicits), but in the meantime now you know a little more about the latest Super Hero Squad figure! Head on over the message board to discuss
The Mystery of the Unmasked Iron Man
Is there a new unmasked Marvel Universe variant out there? This time of the Extremis armor Iron Man? thecollector22 pointed us to the eBay auction, Bionic Commando points out how the auction itself says that the figure has been opened and resealed leaving serious authenticity questions, but what do you think: Home-made headswap to capitalize on the Iron Patriot figure, or legitimate possibility? Head over to the message board to weigh in with your thoughts, theories and most importantly, facts.
Marvel Movieverse
Not reading the message board? Then you’re missing brianregan09′s regular rundown of the Marvel Movieverse (and beyond). Adrian Brody as Doctor Strange or Ant-Man? Punisher in the Marvel Movieverse? Robert Rodriguez on Deadpool? Kevin Bacon as Sebastian Shaw? Darwin in X-Men First Class, but no Mr. Sinister? Branagh on Thor? Riddler in the new Batman movie? How much SHIELD is enough? These are all the things you’ve missed. Now follow that link, get yourself caught up and join in the conversation!

Marvel Universe Wave 10 Photos, and Iron Man 2 News
The most recent Marvelousnews Q&A has news that an official Hasbro Marvel Universe checklist is in the works! Of course, the Q&A also has the sad news that a movie Happy Hogan is NOT in the works.
Meanwhile, The Toyark Q&A hints that Mandarin and Whiplash may be coming.
Neither are off limits for collection 2 of the comic series. You should definitely check them out and see if Mandarin or Whiplash make an appearance. You might even be lucky enough to find BOTH villains in one collection!
.
Meanwhile, Marvelousnews was one of the sites to feature pictures of the upcoming Marvel Universe Wave 10, including Havok, Mystique, Johnny Blaze as Ghost Rider, Captain Britain and Jamie Madrox. The pictures were scanned from Previews magazine though, and sites featuring the pictures have subsequently removed them. The link WAS at this url though.
