More Super Hero Squad Variants
As you know we’re always looking out for new Super Hero Squad figures, and recently there’s been a flurry of potentially new figures coming from Bluesduck on eBay. He’s been a reputable seller, and there’s no indication that these figures are customs, but who knows what, if any, figures will get released. First there’s “Halloween pants Hulk”, then blue Ghost Rider and the gold Iron Men, a black and orange Spider-Man, and most recently, a white and black Venom (a la Anti-Venom, though bulky, and using the Super Hero Squad Venom sculpt). And the seller also has the drop on upcoming figures like Hercules, Odin, the Julia Carpenter/Spider-Woman/Arachne/Madame Web figure, the mysterious Black Surfer and some rare figures like Nighthawk, and Gargoyle.
Think adds some insight into possible upcoming Super Hero Squad packs so looks like we might be in for some fun times ahead. Less fun, if you hate repaints, but still, it’s interesting to see the future and like always, you read it here first. Well, technically on the message board first, but still.

Super Hero Squad’s “Cosmic” Playset
You probably remember seeing Galactus hanging out behind the new Super Hero Squad playset at SDCC 2010, and the good news is that it’ll be on store shelves soon enough. Entertainment Earth is already taking pre-orders for it with it either arriving in October or November, depending on which listing you get first. The listing mentions both Spider-Man and Iron Man, both of whom were displayed with Silver Surfer at SDCC 2010, but hopefully pictures will be available soon to show us which of which wil show up on store shelves. No word yet on what differences they’ll have from their previously released Super Hero Squad figures.

Hot Discussions: Is the Super Hero Squad Line Dead?
Every so often a really hot topic comes up on the message board and we’re going to take a minute to highlight some of the better ones when they come up. This week, Teacher of Madness brought up a doozy: Has the Super Hero Squad toy line been sacrificed for wider marketing? Good points have been brought up on all aspects: the SDCC exclusive being targeted at fans of the shows, whether or not we’re currently in a slow-down, the importance of movie sublines, unreleased figures… lots of great points.
