Super Hero Squad at Toy Fair
First off Here’s the Super Hero Squad press photos. You’ll see that most of the press photos are stuff that’s already been released, but finally, a good shot of the Spider-Splasher and Claw Cruiser and of course, the full-sized Helicarrier.
There’s also some new merchandise developments, such as a new Super Hero Squad set featuring molds to shape the Play-Doh, and another of the re-labled Spider-Man and Friends Play-Doh Stampers was paired along with a Wave 1 Iron Man stamper (akin to the way Galactic Heroes stampers feature figures on the lids), and the next few Iron Man Super Hero Squad figures (although unfortunately, there was an issue with getting pictures so you’ll have to wait until one of the other sites can get some posted.
Edit: and don’t forget the SDCC 2010 three pack featuring the Mayor, Iron Man and Doctor Doom in his bathrobe, holding a cup of coffee (from the video game artwork!)
Galactic Heroes AT-AT in 2010
JesseVader pointed out that the Galactic Heroes AT-AT has been confirmed for 2010! Now it looks like we need to come up with some more questions for the Hasbro Star Wars Q&A… it’s a tough situation but hopefully you Galactic Heroes fans can help with that dilemma.
From Jedi News
1) The Galactic Heroes AT-AT has been solicited and shown by Hasbro several times over the last few years, including the UK and Canadian Toy Fair last year. When will this awesome product see the light of day (it seems like 2010 would be a great time to tie in with the 30th Anniversary of Empire)?
The Galactic Heroes AT-AT finally will be coming out to retail this Fall, scheduled for availability around August 1st. It’s a really nifty vehicle that is a perfect addition to the cute world of Galactic Heroes.
James – “We saw the final product at the UK Toy Fair and it does indeed look awesome and has some great features too – you’re going to have to wait till the US Toy Fair, in 10 days time, to find out more though… Also, for those in the UK wondering – it WILL be coming here!”
Super Hero Squad Doom’s Castle and X-Men Danger Room
Hasbro’s released some press shots of the recently released Super Hero Squad Battle for Doom’s Castle and the final version of the X-Men Danger Room playset. Eagle eyed readers will, of course, be able to count the differences between the original Danger Room press photo, and the new press photo. Of course, conversation is always welcome over on the Rumor Buster message board.
Transformers: Good News/Bad News
First, the bad news… it looks like Robot Heroes may have joined Adventure Heroes, M-Pire and Toy Box Heroes in the Hasbro Heroes graveyard. Normanb258 shared this over on the message board but apparently Parry Game Preserve asked a very delicate question regarding Robot Heroes, and got a sad answer:
Preserve: Do you plan to continue the Robot Heroes line beyond the current movie figures?
Hasbro: We do not have any plans to continue with this expression of Transformers past the ROTF line.
So now you want good news? Hasbro has released pictures of some upcoming Transformers figures and we’ve got them over in the Transformers Gallery. One warning for those that don’t collect the line, Rampage may make you want to start. Here’s the rundown:
Galactic Heroes Shadow Squadron Y-wing and Assault On Ryloth Photos
Rebelscum.com has pictures of the new Galactic Heroes sets Shadow Squadron Y-Wing and Assault on Ryloth.
On an unrelated note, our webhost was migrating servers today, so for a chunk of time we were unavailable. Sorry for the inconvenience, but fingers crossed, it should mean faster and more efficient future internetting! As always, head over to the Rumor Buster message board to discuss.
Super Hero Squad Wave 18
Cool Toy Review has pictures up of Super Hero Squad Wave 18! Head over there to finally see Scarlet Witch, the Abomination, the new Doctor Doom Sculpt (not the Doom’s Castle one!), the new Thor and Spider-Man (with a webshield!)
Galactic Heroes Q&A’s!
First off, news from Yoda’s News that the Kamino Showdown and Purchase of Droids Galactic Heroes cinema scenes are apparently now on tap for a March 2010 release!
YN: Any word as to when we might see those missing Galactic Heroes sets? The “Kamino Showdown” and “Purchase of Droids” sets were supposed to show up at TRU stores in August hit the shelf? So far we have neither heard nor seen anything. Have these sets been cancelled? Please say NO. Thanks!
Hasbro: It’s taken a while for the previous TRU Galactic heroes Cinema Scenes to move through retail, but right now we are looking at March on-shelf. We have packaged samples ourselves so they should be shipping soon if all goes well.
Meanwhile, Han’s Hideout asks some questions about the possibility of a Galactic Heroes TIE Interceptor:
3. A question from one of my boys – Will you make a new Galactic Heroes “TIE Fighter with the bendy wings” [aka a TIE Interceptor]? Liam, Age 3.
That’s a great question. We don’t have one in the works, but it does fit the profile of a vehicle that would make a great impact in the Cinema Scene assortment. We’ll discuss it with the team. Thanks for the suggestion…tell your boy it was an excellent choice and that we hope we can make him happy. Just make sure he stays into Galactic Heroes for a few more years!
Super Hero Squad Kraven in 2010
ActionFigs.com has finally cracked the nut that is Hasbro and convinced them to reveal that Kraven is on the Super Hero Squad slate for Fall 2010. Additionally, they had some good news about the unreleased four packs, or at least the figures in those packs:
ActionFigs: Any updates on the Super Hero Squad 4-Packs that weren’t released in the United States? Winter Soldier Saga, Spider-Man Saves The Day, The New Fantastic Four, The Defenders, Secret Invasion Begins, and Secret Wars. There’s a lot of figures in those boxed sets that we’ve been wanting for a long time to fill out teams.
Hasbro: Look for these figures in our 2010 2-pack lineup…
Beast mentioned this over on the board, so head on over there to discuss this great news.
The Battle for Doom’s Castle up for pre-order
Entertainmentearth is listing the newest Super Hero Squad playset, the Battle for Doom’s Castle as a January pre-order. Eagle-eyed fans will remember that this is the set with the newest Doctor Doom sculpt, making it the first playset to give us more than just a repaint. While this is a trend fans of the playsets may enjoy, others may be put off at the thought of paying $20 for the first Doctor Doom released since Super Hero Squad Wave 3
