Hasbro’s June 2010 Q&A
Well, they side-stepped our ultra-slick move to get them to reveal something new, but they gave us a little news on the Handful of Heroes line and some news that sounds pretty hopeful for the early Marvel Super Hero Squad figures:
1) Will we be seeing a Handful of Heroes Wave 3?
We are looking at continuing this item. Plans have not yet been finalized.
2) Many Super Hero Squad figures from Waves 6 and up have been re-released, sometimes with Hero Up packaging, sometimes with their original packaging and a new PN code. Are there any plans to re-release figures from Waves 1 through 5 in newer packaging?
No plans to reissue the earlier waves of 2 packs at this time as they were, but some of those old figures will be getting a second life in new packs coming out in the future.
3) Will you tell us a secret you haven’t told anyone else yet?
I still have my Marvel underoos.
So there you have it, the dastardly folks at Hasbro avoided our veritable deathtrap of a question… just means we’ll have to try harder next time. Head over to our board to discuss and contribute some new questions
Handful of Heroes Wave 2 Checklist
We finally got our hands on the second wave of Hasbro’s Marvel Handful of Heroes figures, so here’s the newest rundown:
Biggest news, of course, is that Punisher, Thor and Silver Surfer get their first figures, but we also get treated to the Onslaught figure first seen in Wave 1 cardbacks, along with still more Hulk goodness, including Bi-Beast, Zzzax, Madman and 7 different Hulk sculpts. There’s a couple new Spider-Man and Iron Man figures too, but I bet you already expected that!

Handful of Heroes
While we’re still waiting for our case to show up, it looks like some comic book stores have managed to get figures in. Over at Littlerubberguys.com one fan (Misterdroid) even posted a brief review and checklist. Of note, there’s quite the Hulk rogues gallery, including Ironclad, X-Ray and Armageddon (the Leader, one of the foremost Hulk villains, is noticeably absent) which seems to suggest that the planning and production of this line goes back to when Marvel thought the Hulk movie was going to be great and would launch the Hulk Gamma Corps cartoon. Also, Thing is the only member of the Fantastic Four, and of the 40 different sculpts, not a single female made the cut. No Storm, Ms. Marvel, or even a She-Hulk (surprising since the first wave is so Hulk-friendly.)
