Brave and the Bold Action League Wildcat
Thanks to ARBCOToys pointed out an eBay auction for a new Brave and the Bold Action League Wildcat figure! Big thanks also to the Action Figure Insider forums where this first popped up. Head over to the Rumor Buster message board to discuss the latest addition to Batman’s allies.
Action League Scarecrow, Clayface and Black Lightning
Lobsterman was on the ball and spotted some new Brave and the Bold Action League figures that have startedappearing on ebay. Clayface, Black Lightning and Scarecrow are apparently all sculpted and waiting to join DC’s growing battle between good and evil. Looks like Toxin’s going to have to update the Brave and the Bold Action League Good Guy and Bad Guy polls.
Brave and the Bold Action League Chemo
Toxin is on top of the Brave and the Bold Action League figures and if you follow that link, you’ll see he broke the news that Amok Time has the Batman/Chemo and Batman/Bat-Copter sets up for pre-order, scheduled for February! Head over to the Rumor Buster message board to discuss!
Action League Injustice League
Toxin posted some pictures from an overseas seller featuring the Injustice League action league figures featuring repaints of Plastic Man, Atom (Dyna-Mite), and Red Tornado (Silver Cyclone). They’re great, sensible repaints of Brave and the Bold Action League figures, but hopefully more news on these figures will be coming soon!
Raining and Pouring: New Release Maniau
It seems like no matter what toy line you’re into, there’s been a recent release to make you happy. First off, starting with Scifigenre’s now sold out listing of Super Hero Squad Wolverine’s X-Cutioner’s Song and Wolverine Evolutions set (which are still available on sites like Entertainment Earth and Big Bad Toy Store if you head over), and coupled with sightings of Wave 15 at Walmarts and Targets all over, (and in stock at Toywiz), Super Hero Squad fans have plenty to enjoy.
Marvel Universe fans will note that Wave 2 of Secret Wars comic packs, including Cyclops, Magneto and the Julia Carpenter (Arachne) Spider-Woman are popping up, with Big Bad Toy Store featuring the Cyclops/Hulk and Spider-Man/Magneto sets currently in stock. They’ve also got cases of Wave 4, featuring the new Colossus, in stock.
Then Brave and the Bold Action League fans will note that Wave 2 of the 2-packs is out so collectors can gobble up Batman paired with Metamorpho, B’wanna Beast and Ocean Master, or the Green Arrow/Sportsmaster 2-pack. We snagged all four at Target, so hopefully photos will be up this Saturday.
Newsclips 09/01/09
We’re going to do a quick news round up since there’s a lot of little things out there.
First, Pendragon’s Post has a September Q&A where Mattel says there will be at least one New Adventures of He-Man figure incorporated into the Masters of the Universe Classics line in 2010.
OAFE has good and bad news for fans of the Brave and the Bold Action figures… good news? They’ll “get to” females in the Action League line (yay!), but that “females” just aren’t popular enough with kids to get 5 inch treatment (boo!). Contact information is:

And just to help you out further, here’s a draft letter to help you get started:
Dear Mattel;
I am a [parent of a young collector/young collector], and I found your recent comments regarding female action figures to be distasteful and inaccurate. [My children/I] have greatly enjoyed the recent Brave and the Bold episodes, but the lack of a [Fire/Katana/Black Canary/Catwoman/Jewelee] action figure is disappointing. [I/he/she] would love to be able to act out scenes from that episode. [My child/I] enjoy many aspects of the DC Universe, including its many strong, women. I understand that your company considers female characters to be poor sellers, but [We/I routinely purchase female figures from your other toy lines and greatly enjoy them/already avoid Hasbro's Iron Man/Spectacular Spider-Man/Wolverine line because they don't treat their female characters with respect/have enjoyed the female figures in your JLU line and wish to enjoy similar characters in the Brave and the Bold style]. Please reconsider your decision.

So there you go, a few pieces of news to tide you over until the next big story breaks!
Action League Galleries are up!
We’ve posted the start of our Brave and the Bold Action League Gallery up. There’s a gallery for the Toys R Us Arch Rivals six-pack featuring Batman, Blue Beetle, Aquaman, Black Manta, Kanjar Ro and the clear Gentleman Ghost, while Plastic Man is kicking off the Brave and the Bold Action League two-packs gallery. Once we’ve finished the first part of Hasbro’s Marvel Handful of Heroes gallery, we’ll fix up the Action League wiki page with figures shown on the SDCC 2009 poster. In the meantime, you can join the Action League Discussion over on the message board.
