Newsclips 11/25/09

November 25th, 2009 Comments Off Posted in Galactic Heroes, Hasbro Heroes, Marvel Animated, Super Hero Squad

Given the slow news week as many are settling in for Thanksgiving, I figured we’d give a quick rundown of the week’s events:

JesseVader pointed out that Sir Steve’s Guide has Galactic Heroes News, specifically Anakin’s ROTS Fighter: Attack on the Invisible Hand and Jango Fett’s Slave I: Escape from Kamino

The newly rereleased Super Hero Squad Doctor Octopus and Spider-Man 2-pack features another running change and we’re attempting to catalog the differences over on the message board

And Comics Continuum is reporting that this week’s new The Super Hero Squad Show episode, Tales of Suspense, will feature James Rhodes donning the War Machine armor.

Galactic Heroes AT-AT News

November 17th, 2009 Comments Off Posted in Galactic Heroes, Hasbro Heroes

Jessevader08 brought this up over on the message board, but Yakface.com’s recent Q&A with Hasbro revealed that the Galactic Heroes AT-AT is on tap for Fall 2011! It also talks about the possibility of some clone wars vehicles like the Vulture Droid, AAT Tank and Anakin’s Twilight Spice Freighter (which, they say, “remains too big to tackle”).

Galactic Heroes Shadow Squadron Y-Wing and Assault on Ryloth Pictures

October 27th, 2009 Comments Off Posted in Galactic Heroes, Hasbro Heroes

We didn’t have to wait too long for pictures of the Y-Wing (officially called the Shadow Squadron Y-Wing, complete with Matchstick) and the 212th Squadron (aka, the Assault on Ryloth, and featuring TX-20, Waxer and Boil) as Rebelscum has hi-res pictures up.

Meanwhile, Galactichunter.com points out that the Costco exclusive Millenium Falcon is up for sale on its website.

Galactic Heroes 2010 Cinema Scenes, Handful of Heroes Wave 2 and More!

First up, Big Bad Toy Store has a Galactic Heroes Cinema Scenes 2010 Wave 1 up for pre-order. And while we’re on the subject, the Galactic Heroes Checklist is now up over on the Rumor Buster wiki.

Back to the Cinema Scenes, what’s in Wave 1? 1x Y-Wing and 1x 212th Attack Battalion. Entertainment Earth has the following to say about the Y-Wing:

* It’s the bomb!
* Ship seats included figures.
* From the Star Wars saga
* Don’t flee this website without them!

And for the 212th Attack Battalion:

* Orange you glad to get these new Clones?
* Take down some clankers!
* From the Star Wars saga
* Don’t flee this website without them!

Meanwhile, Super Hero Squad Wave 17 is up for preorder at Entertainment Earth, estimated December arrival, and features:

1x Spider-Man & Venom
1x Black Spider-Man & Doc Ock
1x Daredevil & Spider-Man
1x Spider-Man & Electro

Case Revision and Pre-Order Information

May 20th, 2009 Comments Off Posted in Galactic Heroes, Marvel Handful of Heroes, Super Hero Squad

Shoppers rejoice! First, Super Hero Squad Wave 14 now has it’s first revision case.

1x Spider-Man & Venom

1x Hulk & Spiderwoman

1x Captain America & Red Skull

1x Spider-Man & Electro

1x Thorbuster Iron Man & Thor

1x Human Torch & Silver Surfer

1x Wolverine & Bishop

1x Deathlok & Iron Man 2020

3x Spider-Man & Green Goblin

1x Black Spider-Man & Iron Fist

Apparently Hasbro thinks that a pack of repaints will be the big seller, and that the Hulk/Spider-Woman 2-pack and Spider-Man/Electro 2-pack need to be out. Again. With Spider-Woman already getting another figure in Wave 15. And with Rogue/Gambit and any number of other pre-packaging change two-packs still fetching pretty prices. Well… it’s an interesting move.

In other news, Handful of heroes figures are finally up for pre-order! $84.99 for a case, shipping in July, there are apparently going to be over 40 different figures in Wave 1. Still no word yet as to whether that’s 40 different figures total, or whether each figure comes in different colors like classic MUSCLE figures.

every package includes 8 miniature-sized Marvel super-heroes, a play mat, and a super secret hidden figure. With over 40 different Marvel figures to collect in wave 1, you can amass whole armies of all your favorite heroes and villains including Spider-Man, Iron Man, the Hulk, and Dr. Doom.

And Big Bad Toy Store is also putting up pre-orders for Galactic Heroes 2009 Wave 3, Revision 1 (or Star Wars Clone Wars Galactic Heroes Figures Wave 7 if you’re an Entertainment Earth follower) coming in June (with Entertainmentearth.com giving them a July date) and featuring:

1x Han Solo & Logray

1x Lando & Luke

1x Blockade Rebel Trooper & Stormtrooper

1x Death Star Droid, Mouse Droid & Chewbacca
