Superman Batman: Public Enemies Best Buy Exclusive Infinite Heroes Figure

August 29th, 2009 Comments Off Posted in DC, DC Animated, Infinite Heroes

Just like Wonder Woman and Green Lantern First Flight, Superman/Batman: Public Enemies gets a Best Buy exclusive release with an Infinite Heroes action figure! This time it’s a Batman and while the picture at Bestbuy.com is pretty small, the figure apparently went with a bluer-tint cape and cowl and instead of the full-over-the-shoulders-meet-at-the-neck cape shown with The Fwoosh’s early preview of the Public Enemies set, it appears to stop at the shoulders but like I said, that picture’s pretty small. As always, feel free to discuss the new figure on the Infinite Heroes message board.

And on a related note, today we’re going on an Infinite Heroes photo shooting spree, so hopefully this weekend there will be a huge gallery update.

Back to the Super Hero Squad, is this the X-Cutioner’s Song, featuring Jim Lee designed Jean Grey and Cyclops, along with Stryfe and Wolverine? And Moon Knight and a big headed Iron Man? Hepzibah, Cyclops, Warpath and Wolverine in what could POSSIBLY be the leaked X-Force 4-pack, while Wrecker and company are confirmed as Secret Wars. Then front and back shots of the new Toys R Us exclusive Collector’s Pack featuring Ultimate Hulk, Emma Frost and the Falcon.

Fans of those wacky Mighty Muggs style designer toys may enjoy Mattel’s prototype Attitubes, including Webstor, Mer Man and Orko from Masters of the Universe. There’s more of those Justice League PVC statutes coming.

Infinite Heroes fans might be bummed by the lack of news, but here’s a shot of Red Arrow, and if you picked up Anti-Monitor, you’ll see the card back lists the following four figures as Mattycollector exclusives: Supergirl (battle damaged, and carded to replicate her Crisis cover), Barry Allen with the famous death face, the Monitor and Psycho Pirate. 43, Infinity, 49 and 48 respectively.

Then there’s Brave and the Bold Action League B’Wanna Beast and Ocean Master.

We’ve started a SDCC 2009 page on the Wiki to try and track new discoveries, so feel free to jump in or browse the coverage so far.

The Wild Wacky World of Advertising

June 22nd, 2009 Comments Off Posted in DC, Marvel

We’ve just added a new section to the gallery for some good old fashioned ads, and to introduce the section, here’s a hodgepodge of interesting ads including:

Del Monte Pudding Cup exclusive Fantastic Four trading cards

Marvel Heroes golf club covers

And Marvel Heroes bowling balls

Devil Dogs exclusive Marvel Mini-Comics

Cheez-it’s contest to be in a Spider-Man comic, or possibly score a watch

K-Mart exclusive Superman/NASCAR crossover t-shirts

Chef Boyardee X-Men canned pasta (which, from personal experience, I can promise was the worst canned pasta I’ve ever eaten)

Target exclusive POGs featuring the X-Men and X-Force (because POGs, at one time, were the rage)

And Nerds exclusive X-Men trading cards

So hopefully those ads, and the rest in the section, will trigger fits of laughter or, at the very least some fun nostalgia.
