Well, you know, I completely forgot that they were planning a Venom movie... so its not completely insane that they might throw in a few other symbiotes to be his enemies in that is it?

I mean really, if Venom were to get his own movie, then Carnage would be the ideal villain, wouldn't he? And where there's Carnage, it isn't a huge leap to a bunch of other symbiotes... Hmmm...

Lol, I also forgot that they are planning on trying to do a Venom movie (although, they've also been planning on trying to do a Magneto movie for the longest time with no result, so who knows).  I agree that if they did a Venom movie, then Carnage would be the ideal foil for Venom (and it wouldn't be too much of a leap to have other symbiotes in there...maybe kinda like what happened at the end of Cable/Deadpool where all sorts of symbiotes were running around causing havoc?).

you can find this all at superhero hype's website
ok now I guess we know that

1) Rachel McAdams isn't interested in the role of Black Cat, it was just an internet rumor (which is fine by me, don't really care for her, although I think she could be a good voluptuous spidey stalker)

2) Julia Stiles has auditioned for SOME role, which people are assuming is for the role of Black Cat (which is probably not true and NOT fine by me, since I don't think she would be a good 'voluptuous spidey stalker.  I do admire her as an actress, but that role is not for her.  She is the exact opposite of voluptuous and she is too smart to play an obsessed stalker girl)

3) some girl I've never hear of, Romola Garai says she auditioned for the role but doesn't think she's gonna get it.  I look up some pics of her, she looks alright to me, but I don't know squat about her and her acting.

4)  They are seeking out a little red haired boy to be in the movie and everyone is freaking out that Pete and MJ are gonna have a kid in the movie.

My thoughts on all of this?  Um, no- MJ and Pete are NOT going to have a kid.  That didn't fly in the last Superman movie, so they would be stupid to do that.  Julia Stiles probably isn't seeking the role of Black Cat.  A few ideas of mine are
1)  the little red haired boy is one of Gale's (MJ's sister) kids and Julia Stiles will be Gale.  I don't think Gale had any boys but that doesn't really matter
2)  Ms. Stiles will be Dr. Conners' wife and the red head boy will be their kid.

reading some more comments, some crazy fanboys are hoping that the red head boy is a 'baby carnage'.  That idea is just stupid.  Raimi really didn't want to do Venom in the first place and all that turned out badly, so I highly doubt that we will ever see Carnage in the films, as long as Raimi is directing.

Man...I keep realizing that Sam Raimi is involved with practically all of my favorite shows/movies...he and Brian Singer.

Well with Curt Connors back for SM4 (You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login), I think the red haired boy being his son makes a lot of sense.  In Spectacular Spider-Man the kid is brown haired, but that shouldn't really matter.

For Black Cat, and this is probably the worst thing I'll ever say, they really do need to get a cheesecake actress.  I love the character and the interplay she has with Spider-Man in the books, but I think to bring her into the movie world they really need a sort of bombshell actress.  Then again, this franchise has made a history of casting odd, controversial choices (Tobey as Spider-Man, Topher as Venom) so maybe they could go with a Julia Stiles (or someone else) Black Cat.

Other options for the little red-haired kid: Normie?  I don't know how far in the future they're putting this, but Harry is as old as Peter, so if people can speculate about Peter and MJ having a kid, why not Harry having little Normie?

If there is a Black Cat or Lizard in this movie, then I hope Hasbro steps up the SHS offerings.  I think it was such a disappointment that with Gambit, Deadpool and Sabretooth all being sort of bigshots in XOW, Hasbro made movie versions of Deadpool and Sabretooth, and some half-assed repaints of the comic versions.  I was so expecting a new Gambit sculpt.

I agree that they need to get a smoking hottie-hot-hot for Black Cat if they have her in the movie...but they don't have the best casting record.  A perfect example is Mary Jane.  She also should have been a smoking hottie-hot-hot...but instead we got Kirsten Dunst.   :-\

ok NOW they're saying Anne Hathaway for a LEAD ROLE.......I think she could do Black Cat (curvy enough, but she looks like shit blonde).

I was so bummed when I found out Kate Hudson turned down the role of MJ in the movies....I don't really care for her as an actress too much BUT she would physically resemble the MJ we all know and love

.......but after thinking about it I think Kirsten Dunst was fine for the MJ that they portrayed in the movies.....the sweet girl next door

.......and if they did the flirty super confident hot hot hottie like she is in the comics THEN Kate Hudson would have been perfect.

You know, it is a bit hard to reconcile the comics MJ where she just comes out of nowhere and tells Pete he's hit the jackpot with the hard working waitress/actress from the movies.

When a movie comes out and gets popular, I'm always concerned that the comics are going to get re-written to reflect the movie (X-Men Forever: the sentient alien ship that's been home to both Apocalypse, X-Factor and Cable randomly grabs a bunch of X-Men and villains, takes them on a tour of space and time... random things happen, Mystique ends up green and scaly form while Toad gets a super long tongue and gunk spewing powers) but as long as the two worlds stay separate I'm ok with having a sweet Kirsten Dunst MJ and the bombshell model/actress MJ.

I'm also fine with differences between the comics and movies so long as they stay true to major things, and as long as they stay separate.

"we don't want any odd-looking characters, so that's why we want to stick with human faces"

AND AN OLD FART FLYING AROUND IN A VULTURE SUIT IS LESS 'ODD LOOKING' THAN THE LIZARD?  AND THE 'VULTRESS?"  COME ON!  GIVE ME A BREAK!

I know it's December, but does December have it's own 'fool's day' now?  Someone please tell me this is a joke.

The Vulture is probably the worst idea they could come up with. I honestly can't imagine any of that being true.

Yeah that is pretty dumb. For one thing they've already done 2 none human looking faces in Venom and the Green Goblin so why couldn't they do a Lizard?

Something tells me if this is true then someone has trumped Raimi's vote because he's been wanting to do the Lizard and Dylan Baker is supposedly going to be back as Curt Connors.

Yeah, I'm not gonna put too much stock into that Vultress rumor.  I do think John Malkovich would make a good Vulture but as just a minor villain, not the main threat.

And as far as human faces go, there's got to be any number of villains they are regularly human faced, or could just spend the movie without the mask on.

Kraven, Electro (though it depends on how super-heroey they want to go), Hydro-Man (if they don't mind him being Sandman with water), Kingpin (depending on whether the rights are still at Fox), Jackal or Kaine, Lady Octopus, Tombstone, Rhino (just hold off on giving him the horn until the very end), Mysterio like he's currently being done in the Ultimate Universe.

Vulture could be fun depending on how he's done.  Thief obsessed with his damn bird wings? Bit of a one-trick pony.  Youth stealing vampire?  May not work with how "real" Spider-Man is supposed to be.  I'm sure they'll figure things out.
