Contest: How Cool is Your Collection?

What followed was a civil war. A contest for our upcoming birthday? Photos? Text? Captions? A system of registration was implemented. Dissidents were rounded up and sent to another dimension. Evil took hold.
Then dawned a bright age. A contest was born.
The Contest: Tell us why your collection rocks. Any collection, any size, anything goes.
It’s not about the size of the collection or how expensive it is, but in how great it is. It can be a well-manicured collection of autographs, an exhaustive collection of fast food toys. Maybe your collection is just a bunch of different versions of Spider-Man.
This contest isn’t necessarily about an inventory of what you’ve got. You might have a hundred thousand books BUT what you really want to talk about is that handful of first editions you would never part with.
The Rules: Head over to the Message Board to describe your collection. The one that rocks. You’ve got 1000 words, of 500 words and one picture. Once the submission deadline passes, all of the collections are going to be entered into a poll and you fine folks have to vote for the winner.
The poll results will be kept secret until the end. Everyone gets TWO votes. Most people will vote for themselves. With two votes, you can still vote for yourself, but you also get to show some love for another great collection.
Failure to participate means you’re giving up free stuff, and come on, who doesn’t want free stuff?
The Prizes:
The Deadline: Pictures and stories are due by March 20, 2010 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time. Once entrants have been collected and entered into the poll, voting runs until March 27, 2010 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time.
The Fine Print: Board moderators are out of the running (which means myself, Wwwyzerd, Clanure, Livedog, Really_rather_not_nice and Toxin don’t get to share.) Everyone not listed above is free to compete.
The Disclosures: Oh, and the FTC hates pay-per-blogging so we have to disclose that these prizes come from the fine folks at Hasbro.
