Super Hero Squad Wave 16 for Preorder!
Entertainment Earth has Wave 16 of the Super Hero Squad up for pre-order, scheduled for an October release! And Wave 16, revision 1, follows in November. There’s some peculiarities about these listings though, as they apparently throw out the long established pattern of 4 new sets per Wave. Greater availability of some back catalog figures? Possibly. Oh, and hopefully soon we’ll find out why the Wave 16 listings include a Wolverine (Black) with Silver Samurai, while Wave 15 lists the Wolverine (Yellow and Blue) that we’ve already seen released.
The case packs are as follows:
Wave 16
1x Captain America & Red Skull
1x Spider-Man & Green Goblin
1x Spider-Man & Vulture
1x Iron Man & Spider-Woman
2x Wolverine (Black) & Silver Samurai
3x Iron Man & War Machine
3x Spider-Man & Moonknight
Wave 16, Revision 1
1x Ghost Rider & Motorcycle
1x Wolverine & the Hand
1x “Ben Rielly” Spider-Man & Bullseye
1x Spider-Man & Green Goblin
1x Black Spider-Man & Iron Fist
1x Spider-Man & Vulture
1x Hulk & Nova
1x Iron Man & Spider-Woman
1x Wolverine (Black) & Silver Samurai
2x Iron Man & War Machine
1x Spider-Man & Moonknight
The Super Hero Show Pictures
Marvel’s Facebook page has been updated with a gallery of The Super Hero Squad Show images like Hawkeye concept art, Colossus, Reptil, Ms. Marvel, Captain America, Luke Cage, Iron Fist and Misty Knight, the Fantastic Four, and even two massive spreads of all the Super Hero Squad Heroes, and all the SHS Villains. Hopefully that’ll whet your appetite for the show, which will be premiering in a few short weeks!
Public Enemies Early Preview
The Fwoosh has some early pictures of the upcoming 3.75 inch Superman/Batman Public Enemies figures, with the exceptional news that Superman and Batman (and Captain Atom, and to some extent Black Lightning) will be using the new articulation. There’s also a back-of-the-box preview showing Grodd, President Luthor and Major Force. The reviews mentions how Infinite Heroes isn’t mentioned at all on the packaging, but lets be honest, with IH articulation, and various pieces and parts (or in some cases, entire Infinite Heroes figures like Power Girl and Luthor) these are as much an Infinite Hero as the Gotham Knights 3-pack.
At Long Last… Mosaic Monday
You know it, you love it… Go to the Mosaic Monday thread to post your guesses and confirm previous Mosaic Monday guesses. The rules are as always, it’s a Super Hero Squad figure, rendered from other Super Hero Squad images. No trick shots, no upside-down reverse mirror photos.
Marvel Universe Super Hero Squad Galleries Updated
While it’s not as big an update as I had hoped for, an update is an update. First off, for Marvel Universe we’ve got the Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends Toys R Us 3-pack up, and Secret Wars Comic Packs 1-3. More importantly, we’ve got a few comparison shots, like Spider-Men from Wave 1 through Amazing Friends, Amazing Friends Iceman versus X-Men Origins Wolverine Iceman, and Wave 1 Wolverine versus Secret Wars Wolverine.
Following that, we’ve got Super Hero Squad Cruisers Wave 2 photos and comparisons. This wave continues the background Easter Eggs of Wave 1, showing off guest appearances by Silver Surfer, Spider-Man, the Baxter Building, and the latest Stark Industries armors. Comparisons of Wave 5 and Cruisers Wave 2 Thor (Hero Helicopter Thor has a more golden boot color) and Ultimate Captain America (which has a darker red shield) figures, while Repulsor Racer Iron Man goes up against the Fin Fang Foom/Mega Pack Iron Man (Repulsor Racer Iron Man has a green tint to the yellow armor and a darker shade of red), while Astonishing X-Men Cyclops has an obvious color change.
So there you go, hopefully that solves some burning repaint/repack questions and if not, hopefully it keeps you busy until the next time we update the gallery, which, by the way, recently celebrated its 30,000th image view (and that doesn’t count viewing gallery images through the wiki), and is nearing 5,000 pictures! As always, you can head over to the board for more discussion on Marvel Universe, Super Hero Squad, and all things in general.
The Complete Justice League Animated Series
With the Lost Super Friends Episodes hitting store shelves this week, and the recently announced complete Superman The animated Series, imagine our surprise when DC continued to surprise us by announcing the complete Justice League animated series, due November 10 at $99.98 and containing every episode of Justice League and Justice League Unlimited.
Of course, this is hot on the heels of the recently revealed Justice League Crisis on Two Earths direct-to-DVD movie and this week’s other DC animated release, a double feature containing The Batman versus Dracula and the Batman/Superman Movie
Recent Super Hero Squad releases
Well in addition to the Super Hero Squad misc merc that’s appearing (like the recently discovered Super Hero Squad bopping bag), Super Hero Squad Wave 15 (Nova, Hulk, Wolverine, Silver Samurai, Iron Man, Spider-Woman, Vulture and Spider-Man) has started hitting stores (and thus, eBay as well) and so have the Jada Toys Touch Tech toys.
Spider-Man and Iron Man get Mobile Headquarters, Spider-Man, Iron Man and Wolverine get Big Rigs, and Captain America and Hulk join that trio with a hovercraft and tank (respectively).
Also, the Hero Helicopter and Repulsor Racer (aka, Wave 2 of the Super Hero Squad “Squad Cruisers”) are in stores now, so we’ll hopefully have pictures up soon.
And at the risk of being a broken record, discussion is, as always, welcome over on the Super Hero Squad board
