Best Buy Exclusive Wonder Woman Infinite Heroes figure?
Experience the Wonder has a post saying that there’s going to be an exclusive new Wonder Woman Infinite Hero figure (well, a repaint of the current Wonder Woman with a new head and a look to reflect her Direct to DVD animated movie styling). Bad news? You have to buy the Blu-Ray to get the figure, at least as far as the early news goes. Hopefully DVD buyers also get the chance. Well, hopefully the figure looks better than the Wonder Woman offering that’s out now.
New Super Hero Squad, Marvel Universe Figures
Over on the Fwoosh, a user named Discogod is reporting the following from the UK 2009 Toyfair:
MARVEL UNIVERSE:
Only new info I have is comic packs – 2 packs themed around “Secret Wars” (for the 25th anniversary), including a reprint comic. Due late summer.
Iron Man Animated:
3.75″ figures, sadly. Mandarin & Crimson Dynamo, along with 3 IM.
Wolverine Origins:
Figures look great, there’s a movie wave on the way with a basic Logan in civvies, with swappable hands (claws, no claws). Also the usual kiddie crap like bump ‘n’ gos.
Superhero Squad:
Tigra, Dreadknight, Avalanche, Dark Beast, Modern Havok, Logan & Bike, Tombstone. The Wolverine sets seem to be comic rather than movie based. There’s also vehicles & playsets on the way, but they don’t look promising.
And Beast tipped us off to a report by Cash on the Super Hero Squad forum that the following new Super Hero Squad figure SKUs have popped up:
714680 MVL WOL SLVR SAMURA
714752 MVL IRN MAN SPDWOMN
714785 MVL SHS HULK NOVA
717080 MVL SPDMN BULLSEYE
717090 MVL SHS SPDMN TIGRA
717098 MVL THRBSTER IM THOR
758905 MVL SHS DEATHLOK IR
So on the plus side, it looks like Silver Samurai, Nova, Bullseye, Tigra and Deathlok are good possibilities, while other names appear to include Spider-Woman and a Thorbuster Iron Man. Obviously all this is subject to change, but hopefully this means some good stuff is coming up in the upcoming convention season!
Arachno Racer and Off-Road Avenger pictures
Marvelousnews has pictures of the upcoming Super Hero Squad vehicles (this go-round featuring two figures and one vehicle, as opposed to the earlier Spider-Man vehicles). Off-Road Avenger is here and features Captain America and Wolverine repacks, while the Arachno-Racer is here with what look like Thing (from the Mole Man 2-Pack) and Spider-Man repacks.
Edit 1/31/09 – I just realized that the Spidey vehicle is now called the Arachno Roadster, and not the Arachno Racer.
More Mattel stuff at NYCC than NY Toy Fair?
At least according to Mattel’s Facebook page, as reprinted on Action-Figure.com. On the plus side: At least we’ll find out what the Anti-Monitor points are for. On the other hand, collectors of the points get an SDCC special, people who don’t collect the points “have an opportunity to get a similar item at a minimum cost”, but those that don’t go (like us East Coast folks unable to take the time off to fly over) get nothing, which is a sad thing. Hopefully there will be some way to make amends to those that can’t go, like last year’s offering of King Grayskull online.
Super Hero Squad Background Painter?
We’re always on the look-out for information about the Super Hero Squad animated series, so of course we were pleased to find that Stephen Nicodemus is working on the Super Hero Squad. Now, since his other blog posts (well, not his political blog, but his other blog) show some of his My Gym Parner Is a Monkey, he might be talking about the animated series, but since his other posts talk about the New Line Direct-to-DVD movies, he could be talking about the 2010 SHS direct-to-dvd feature since “Starting from The Next Avengers through Planet Hulk which releases in 2010, Marvel/Lionsgate used basicly the same crew to create the art and design on these movies.”
Well, we’ll find out soon enough, right?
Wolverine and the X-Men on DVD
Having seen the trailer in the new Hulk vs. Direct to DVD feature, I noticed that it had April 2009 as a DVD release date. Of course, TV Shows on DVD beat me to it, with new of the Heroes Return Trilogy. Oh well, we’ll catch them next time.

Mosaic Monday 8
It’s that time of the week again! Same rules as always: A Super Hero Squad figure has been mosaic’ed using pictures of other Super Hero Squad figures (and related materials.) Go to the MM thread to post your guesses and confirm your previous guesses.
