Galactic Heroes AT-AT in 2010
JesseVader pointed out that the Galactic Heroes AT-AT has been confirmed for 2010! Now it looks like we need to come up with some more questions for the Hasbro Star Wars Q&A… it’s a tough situation but hopefully you Galactic Heroes fans can help with that dilemma.
From Jedi News
1) The Galactic Heroes AT-AT has been solicited and shown by Hasbro several times over the last few years, including the UK and Canadian Toy Fair last year. When will this awesome product see the light of day (it seems like 2010 would be a great time to tie in with the 30th Anniversary of Empire)?
The Galactic Heroes AT-AT finally will be coming out to retail this Fall, scheduled for availability around August 1st. It’s a really nifty vehicle that is a perfect addition to the cute world of Galactic Heroes.
James – “We saw the final product at the UK Toy Fair and it does indeed look awesome and has some great features too – you’re going to have to wait till the US Toy Fair, in 10 days time, to find out more though… Also, for those in the UK wondering – it WILL be coming here!”
Ask Matty Feb. 1
We just got answers back from our most recent round of questions!
Regarding the Secret Saturdays cryptid line, will we ever see the Popobawa figure on the shelves – even under the Devil’s Cave Bird name?
We are still talking about the Secret Saturday line so stay tuned.
Is Mr. Potato Head off limits for the Toy Story line?
Correct. Mattel will not be including Mr. Potato Head in our Toy Story line.
Will we see Brave and the Bold/Action League or a continuation of the Infinite Heroes pack-ins with DC DVDs?
We are looking into future plans for DVD pack-ins but we’re not ready to announce anything quite yet.
Are there any characters from the various lines that, due to legal or copyright reasons, we probably won’t see?
At this time we will not be including Filmation characters in the MOTUC line.
Do the packages with female characters sell significantly less than the all-male packages?
Female characters tend to appeal primarily to collectors so we typically produce fewer figures overall. All of our lines at retail need to appeal to both kids and moms as well as collectors.
Matty Q&A Voting
There’s not much time left to vote for questions in the current round of Ask Matty, but you can still submit questiosn for the next round of voting! Remember you can submit questions regarding any of the Mattel lines… Brave and the Bold, DCUC, Action League, Cars, Masters of the Universe Classics, Infinite Heroes… the whole Mattel world is your oyster! Marvel Universe AIM Agent, Colossus and Archangel?
WeaponEversor is, once again, seriously on top of things and pointed out the piece from Marvelousnews showing an AIM Agent, Colossus, Juggernaut and, what looks like Archangel’s wings (with the blue blur standing in front of Colossus possibly being Archangel himself). Animated Iron Man in May!
May 4th is going to be a good day for fans of 1990’s Marvel Animation! Both Volume 5 of X-Men, wrapping up the well loved series, and the complete Iron Man series (and responsible for a whole generation of kids knowing Julia Carpenter as Spider-Woman, the Mandarin as a green alien, and MODOK as a weird creepy floating head) get releases sure to make many people happy! While I agree, they could definitely benefit from some added features (and better encodings in some cases), given the number of years we’ve been waiting, at this point we’ll take what we can get.
